I was reading my Prevention newsletter this morning and loved an article called “17 Ways Exercise Sends Health Soaring.” The article started out by mentioning that focusing solely on weight loss when starting an exercise routine may not be enough to keep a person motivated to continue. It may in fact “slash your odds of success by over half.” There are many other reasons why you can’t afford NOT to get in your physical activity. Even if you exercised regularly and never lost a pound the health benefits gained would be well worth the sweat! Benefits like pain relief, more energy, a better immune system, deeper sleep, and a sharper memory keep me motivated to keep exercising! Facts are that weight simply doesn't cooperate sometimes… so if you will only continue to exercise if your weight goes down, then you will always lose. Exercise with a long-term goal of having a healthy life and you'll turn out just fine.
