About

The number of overweight and obese people is shocking, and it continues to grow every year.  The following information from the CDC describes the seriousness of the obesity epidemic in the US. ”In 2007–2008 more than one-third of United States adults were obese. Obese individuals are at increased risk of diabetes mellitus, cardiovasculardisease, hypertension, and certain cancers, among other conditions.”

The body mass index (BMI) helps to determine the amount of body fat based on a person’s height and weight. It is not recommended to be used for children. Visit http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ to calculate your BMI. Exercise and eating a healthy diet are the only ways to reduce body fat and lose weight.
